Tis' the Season!

Tis' the season to be rockin' some GOLD! I haven't worked with my gold beads in awhile, so I took a tiny 8-hour break from doing my customs this past weekend to do a gold {{Beaded Roped}}!

This {{Beaded Rope Collection}} necklace features three long beaded-strands, with super meticulously placed beads, and then braided and twisted together into a long "beaded rope".

The first strand comprises of medium-sized pearls, crystals, stones, and gold stone chips. The next two strands are slightly smaller, as they are strung with glass seed beads, smaller crystals, and smaller pearls....

Next, I braid and twist the three strands together into a long, tightly woven beaded rope.

Then, I weave a coordinating bronze-gold chain throughout the necklace to tighten everything up and bring all the beads together! This necklace design is a huge favorite of mine, as it's honestly nothing like anything you'd find in the stores. I really wanted to create a "rope"- looking necklace that was super versatile. I wanted to knot it, wear it doubled, wear it in a long rope, etc. And here is what I came up with! :-)

Custom Order for a Purple {[Beaded Rope}} Beauty

I haven't done any {{Beaded Ropes}} in the past few weeks, so I'm super happy to be back at them! I have this custom order and another custom {{Beaded Rope}} to do within the next week alone! :-)


I have to say, coming up with the design for my Beaded Ropes took a LOT of "trial and error"....aka, a LOT of "wow that really sucks".....and a LOT of "Why am I spending all these hundreds of hours on this design when it still doesn't look right??". I really wanted to make something long and super versatile, but my MAIN goal was to make something completely different than anything you'd see in a store. I wanted multiple strands, fun chains, and amazing sparkle. And I cannot lie...I'm rather proud of my design! It's a lot of love and a lot of hard work behind these beaded ropes! :-)

This {{Beaded Rope Collection}} necklace is a custom order for a fabulous new customer. She loves purples and loved the beaded rope design, so she requested a necklace with all different shades of purple, mixed with different shades of silver.

And this is what I came up with!

It's hard to tell from my pictures, but it features various shades of purple, including plum, violet, lavender, deep purple, and a really awesome almost fuchsia-purple to give it a little depth. It also features various shades of silver and gray to really give it a fun look.

And of course, this necklace features TONS of crystals and a sprinkling of rhinestone beads. It really sparkles!

A Summary of My 10 Different Designs!

At the moment, about 80% of my business is Custom orders....which I LOVE doing. I have spent sooo many hours coming up with the different designs for each of the collections, and now I'm totally enjoying replicating each design by doing custom orders....in all of the customer's preferred colors! I feel like it's the best of both worlds.....my designs with the customer's colors. Love love love.

Custom Creations: Shelly's Beaded Rope

This week is going to be all about the Custom Creations! I have a handful of them to complete, so it's time to go to town!

The week's first custom creation started with a beautiful {{Beaded Rope Collection}} necklace for the fabulous Shelly. She requested a combination of reds, blacks, grays, silvers, with a splash of creamy ivory.

In the effort to better connect with my customers and really strive to make them happy with their custom order, I have started texting pictures of their creation as I go! It almost gives the necklace a "story". First, I organize all the beads and materials I'm going to use and then snap a picture of the "organized chaos" before I start. Next, I snap a few pictures midway to showcase the necklace as it starts to take shape. Finally at the end, I take a few final pictures to show off the end result! I think it's not only fun for me, but fun for the customer to see the hard work come to life!
